Completing your school profile

Your School Profile is the foundation of everything in Edvance. Completing it once gives you an accurate governance snapshot and unlocks inspection readiness, board pack generation, finance oversight, and compliance alerts.

The four sections

1. School information

School name, roll number, school type (Primary, Post-Primary, Fee-paying, etc.), patron body, and principal name. School type is important — it drives tailored governance expectations and inspection guidance specific to your school.

2. Board governance

Chairperson and secretary details, principal name, and optionally your next Board of Management meeting date. This information aligns board packs and readiness views to your real board cycle.

3. Financial records snapshot

High-level values for your latest annual accounts, current year budget, and current cash position. This is not a replacement for detailed finance imports — it provides enough context to start finance readiness and oversight workflows from day one.

4. Core policy pack checklist

A short list of core policies (Child Safeguarding Statement, Admissions, Code of Behaviour, Anti-Bullying, Data Protection, Health & Safety, Critical Incident Plan). You do not need every policy loaded to proceed — confirming a majority is enough to complete this section.

Progress tracking

Progress is shown at the top of the School Profile page and as a badge next to the School Profile link in Settings while setup is incomplete. Once all sections are complete, the dashboard gate lifts and you will see your Governance Snapshot with live signals and your most important next actions.
