The first time you sign in to Edvance, you will be guided through a short setup flow that captures the minimum information needed to unlock your principal cockpit, board packs, finance oversight, and inspection readiness views.
Step 1 — Sign in
Use your school-issued email address via Microsoft SSO or email login, as configured for your school. If your email is associated with more than one school, you will be asked to confirm which school you are acting for before proceeding.
Step 2 — Complete your School Profile
Go to Settings → School Profile (or you will be redirected there automatically if setup is incomplete). You will need to fill in:
- School details — name, roll number, school type, patron body, principal name
- Board governance — chairperson, secretary, and optionally your next Board of Management meeting date
- Finance snapshot — high-level figures for latest annual accounts, current year budget, and current cash position
- Core policy checklist — confirm which of the core policies (Child Safeguarding, Anti-Bullying, Admissions, Data Protection, etc.) you already have in place
Step 3 — Upload key governance documents
Use the upload prompts on School Profile, Board Packs, Policies, and Finance to add your recent board minutes, annual accounts, current budget, and core policies. Edvance analyses these documents and uses them as evidence for readiness — but governance records remain the source of truth, not the documents alone.
Step 4 — Go to your Dashboard
Once setup is complete, your default landing page becomes the Dashboard — your principal cockpit. From here you can navigate to Inspection, Board, Compliance, Finance, and Settings using the left-hand sidebar. The Dashboard always shows your most important next actions across every domain.
