Edvance highlights the most effective actions you can take to improve inspection readiness and groups them into clear categories. The aim is to move quickly from reactive fixes to a stable, defensible governance position.
1. Upload and classify missing core documents
Use School Profile, Policies, and Governance Documents to upload core policies, recent board minutes, annual accounts, and your current budget. Edvance classifies and groups these documents against its governance expectations catalogue, closing obvious gaps.
2. Complete policy assurance chains
For high-impact policies (Child Protection, Admissions, Data Protection), ensure there is a current document, completed consultation where required, a recorded board approval, and linked evidence. The Policy Assurance view shows exactly what is missing for each policy.
3. Address regulatory updates
Use Circulars & Guidance and Compliance Intelligence to see which regulatory updates affect your policies. Follow the links into those policies to review and update them. Mark impacts as reviewed once changes have been made and approved.
4. Work the Inspection Readiness checklist
On the Inspection Readiness screen, address Critical issues first, then Needs attention. Each item has a direct workflow CTA so you can act immediately without navigating manually. Periodically generate a readiness export to create an inspection evidence pack summarising your status.
These actions improve your readiness score and — more importantly — give you a transparent, explainable record of how your school meets inspection expectations.
