Recording board decisions and actions

After a board meeting, Edvance lets you record decisions and follow-up actions in a structured way. This creates an inspection-ready trail that connects board packs, governance decisions, and outstanding tasks.

To record a decision

  1. Go to Board → Board Packs and open the relevant meeting pack.
  2. In the Board decision record section, capture: outcome status (noted, approved, approved with actions, deferred), meeting date, and notes summarising key decisions.
  3. For policies that were approved at the meeting, recording the decision here automatically advances the governance status of those policies — you do not need to upload a separate minutes document for in-system approvals.

Follow-up actions

Create governance actions linked to the board pack for items the board has asked to be completed. These actions appear in your board-focused task views and follow-up phases, so nothing falls through the cracks between meetings.

Supporting evidence

You can upload signed minutes, board decision notes, and related documents as supporting evidence for the pack. Evidence is stored separately from the decision record but is visible in board and policy assurance workflows — and is available for inspection visits.

Once the decision record is complete and actions are tracked, the pack's readiness summary reflects that the meeting has been properly closed out.
