Understanding inspection readiness

Inspection readiness in Edvance is a computed view of how prepared your school is for a Department of Education inspection — based on your regulatory requirements, policy evidence, and governance records. It is exposed on both the Dashboard and a dedicated Inspection Readiness page.

What the engine looks at

  • The proportion of relevant regulatory requirements that have linked policies and evidence
  • Which policies are missing evidence or are overdue for review
  • Whether key governance artefacts (core policies, board minutes, recent board decisions) are present and current

What you see on the Inspection Readiness page

  • A readiness score (percentage) showing coverage of regulatory requirements
  • 'What this is based on' — an explanation of which data and rules were used
  • 'Fastest path to improve' — up to three concrete workflows to run next
  • A grouped checklist (Critical, Needs attention, Ready) plus a full checklist by category

The design keeps the focus on actions and evidence, not on document uploads for their own sake. Everything is explainable and grounded in your own school data.
